Time to Change this a bit.

Seeing as how I have more blogs than rolls of toilet papers. I have decided to make this funny. Stay tuned. It should be finished whenever you laugh. If you see a joke that is not funny. Thats because the site is still in transition.

My camera is off to rehab

after 20k+ shots already this year, the d7000 is upset with my blatant disregard for the sensort. As such most of the spots on my latest images have their own resolution, and pixel counts. So.... off to get cleaned.
10 days without it. Just me and the hasselblad. andrejmilas.blogspot.com. Hopefully I get better at film in the meantime. Otherwise its going to be a rather ugly cross processed 3/4 fortnight.

More Suitcasery

I cut the foam for the top and bottom, and I am in the process of replacing some of the wood inside the suitcase for fear of dry rot.  I might have gotten it done tonite if I had not had to have a root canal done ;(

Project : Keep it safe.

With the arrival of my 5lb piece of german \ swiss engineering. I needed to find house the hass' in place befitting its age, its worth and in something cool. The most logical choice for this was 2 vintage(old) suitcases that i recovered from my grandparents house. These suitcases are in pretty bad shape. And I am no ... well lets just say i won't get my own show for restoring things anytime soon. But alas elbow grease, some Milas ingenuity and time should produce something vaguely close to my aforementioned goals.

A couple of things struck me immediately as I began this project.

1. Tweed is not the most blogged about material for restorative information.
2. Dry rot wood is problematic.
3. Mold isn't my friend.
4. oh dear what I have I gotten myself into..

touched up a bit.

The more comfortable I get with my new Wacom Tablet and Photoshop the more at ease I feel editing photos. I think this shot of gina looks much better now.

rage , rage against the dying of the analog...

with some film options.. Hasselblad 503cxi. One healthy bit of metal. The first thing that crept into my mind was "wow", perhaps not the most eloquent thing. But alas that sufficiently sums up my reaction. No batteries, no electrical parts of any kind, a truly mechanical device. For consuming souls.
